This collection of videos demonstrate a range of soft tissue massage techniques of the large muscle groups of the thigh and leg, specifically the Hamstrings, Quadriceps, Popliteus, Gastrocnemius and Soleus muscles. Also demonstrated is Knee joint gapping, medially and laterally, Tibial Shift techniques, Harmonic traction and techniques focusing to the superior Tibio-Fibular joint. Good handling and use of the therapists body posture, body movements and legs are very important to help control the 'heavy' lower extremity in order carry out these techniques well. These techniques need repeated rehearsal to ensure the techniques can be applied in clinical practice with confidence and control.
