13. Mobilising & Manipulation Sacro-Iliac Joints

This collection of videos demonstrate a range of mobilising and manipulation techniques to the Sacro-Iliac joint. The mobilising techniques are applied with the patient in the supine and side lying positions, they demonstrate clear hand contact positions and the movements are introduced clearly using the therapists body to encourage the movements whilst still maintaining palpable awareness.

The manipulation techniques are in the side lying position and the first two use a primary lever that either takes the Ilium bone into a so called 'anterior' or 'posterior ' direction focusing to the upper Ilium nearest to the therapist (the therapist is leaning on this upper Ilium) and the second two use a primary lever that either takes the Sacrum bone into a so called 'anterior' or 'posterior ' direction focusing to the Sacrum and lower Ilium nearest to the plinth (the lower Ilium is in contact with the top of the plinth which it has friction with so it does not move)
